Beginner 1: An Introduction to Abstract

Even if you've never tried abstract painting this is the place to start. In this on-line class you will be shown how to achieve textural effects with acrylic paint and gesso while creating multiple layers of colour, interest and design.

This workshop requires you to have your own materials (acrylic, gesso and a surface) and to do about 20 minutes of preparation to your surface before the zoom class if you want to paint along. ​You will be shown how to pre-texture your surface from a pre-recorded video. If you miss the zoom workshop a recording will be available for you to watch later.

Pre-requisite: Beginner Acrylic or Intro to Abstract or

1 year experience painting with acrylic

You will be guided through the process of abstract painting while you learn the principals of abstract design and composition. Some of the mediums you will learn to use are acrylic paint, modelling paste, tissue paper, cheese cloth, stencils, buttons, found objects, etc. Each week will focus on a new technique. You can paint along of just watch the demonstrations.

Payment will be made by e-transfer and then a zoom link

will be sent to you by email.  

You will need the zoom app on your device

(a computer or tablet is recommended)

AGE LIMIT: 14 years
