COLOUR MIXING 101 WAS WHAT YOU LEARNED IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, THIS IS THE NEXT STEP

In Elementary school you learned that yellow and blue make green, yellow and red make orange and red and blue make purple but what about all the other colours? And why is it that red and blue sometimes make brown. Well these questions get answered in this workshop. There is so much to learn about colour. I think this workshop could actually be an 6 week course but I will attempt to help you understand it simply in one day. But I hope it will just be the beginning of your own colour exploration.

I will start with basic colours of paint so that we are all working with the same palette. You will learn to work with a full spectrum palette to be able to create all the colours. You will learn about pigments and blended pigments as well as the properties of the pigments. You will begin to learn to train your eye to colour match. You will create a colour wheel including tertiary colours and you will do colour exercises while creating abstract designs. You will learn everything you need to know about colour.

Very informative class. I had no idea there was so much to know about color. Several “A Hah!” moments for me. This information will help me with my color mixing, matching, and selections for a work. As well as future paint purchases. Thanks! - Rob T.
