Intro to Watercolour

A taste of the world of watercolour painting.

You will learn the basic rules of watercolour painting, what types of paper and brushes to use and experience why watercolour is such an enjoyable medium. You will create a small watercolour painting while learning a couple of the most basic watercolour techniques.

Beginner 1

Everything you need to get you started in watercolour painting.

You will learn the basics of colour mixing, wet-in-wet, wet-on-dry, light and shadow, controlling your washes and basic brush technique. Some still life exercises will be used to learn about layering watercolours and you will paint some landscapes to learn to preserve your whites.

You will work small on 7.5"x11" Arches watercolour paper.

BEGINNER 2

Painting from Photos

Wednesday, September 1 - Oct.6

2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

$390 (supplies not included)

6 week class

Pre-requisite: Beg. I Watercolour

 

Beginner 2

Learn the basics of watercolour painting while creating landscape paintings.

You will work from photos to produce landscapes from start to finish. We will cover how to plan your watercolour from light to dark and you will be shown brush technique to achieve the effects for painting clouds, grass, trees, rocks and water. 

You will work on quarter sheets of

11"x15" Arches watercolour paper.
